Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG)

iag2016IAG (Information, Advice and Guidance) is a weekly drop-in session for young people aged 16-19 that takes place at The Quad, every Wednesday at 12pm – 3pm.

What happens at an IAG session?

Each session is focused on your needs. Once you arrive at The Quad and speak to the Youth Support Worker, make sure that you explain what you need help with.

Youth Support Workers are able to help you to:

  • create or update your CV
  • write cover letters
  • complete job application forms
  • complete a job search
  • find out about apprenticeships
  • find out and apply for training programmes
  • find out more about benefits
  • find out about local offers
  • find other services that could support you further

The drop-in session is an initial meeting where you can discuss your options in terms of Education, Employment and Training and any needs / wants that you have. We’ll help you to look at any barriers that you are facing and discuss the next steps required to achieve your goals.

This doesn’t have to be a one-off meeting. IAG is open every Wednesday between 12pm – 3pm with laptops and computers available for you to use.

Do I need to make an appointment?

No, the session works on a drop-in basis – just turn up on any Wednesday between 12pm and 3pm and ask to speak to someone regarding IAG.

After your first session, your worker may arrange another appointment for you. Regular support can be available on a more frequent basis if you feel you need more assistance.

What if I can’t make it on a Wednesday?

Don’t worry, just call us on 020 8770 5754 and we’ll try to arrange another time and day for you. If the Youth Support Workers are not available when you call, we’ll take your details and get them to give you a call back. Alternatively, you can email us at
